Welcome everyone to the new Starbox Collectables website!
After much research, deliberation and many cups of strong coffee, I decided to take the plunge and commissioned my very own swanky new website. I'm incredibly pleased with how it turned out and I hope you like it too.
New frontier
I have been trading as Starbox Collectables for over 5 years now, offering a range of pop culture items from action figures to prop replicas and everything in-between. Third party sites have been a key role in the growth of the business but ultimately you are paying for the privilege of using someone else's site, which unfortunately leads to higher prices. With this new website I hope to offer the same great service my customers have come to expect over the years - this time with better pricing.
After discussions with the designer, we opted to keep the colour theme present in the logo, this gives a consistent feel across the website and helps to give it a stronger identity. I am in the process of adding more product lines so things like drop down menus (adding new brands, ranges) may change while everything is being fully updated. The new site is powered by Shopify eCommerce Solutions so comes with all the features you would expect from an established brand, it is fully PCI compliant meaning the network and card holder date is secure.
So, what's next?
Once the dust has settled there are plans for future additions such as pre-orders and international shipping. Currently, I only ship to the UK, this is hopefully temporary, but it takes time to research international courier partners and I want to make sure I pick one that will offer the most competitive rates for you. International shipping is available on my other third-party platforms.
Pre-orders are essential. I know from personal experience (I collect Star Trek models!) that people want to ensure they can secure the newest items before release. I’m in discussions with the site designer as how best to offer this option in the future, once that has been agreed I can start to accept pre-orders.
